An assignment can be
a work or task in individual or group form, which is boring and wearying for
me. When I heard of this integrated assignment for the first time, I was
astonished as it integrates all the five subjects together. Nevertheless, it
was not that bad as I thought because it did brought my group members up in one
cooperatively. It is a long and tough journey with many barriers yet we gone
through it with all our efforts along with a little of luck. From this
assignment, I learnt to tackle and address problems especially in communication
aspect and consociation among others. I am so pleased to have supportive group
member who always give me comments and guidance along the way which helps me a
lot. My teammates never blame on me despite I loaf on the job sometimes. By the
way, they helped me in completing my part of the assignment and gone through
the hectic moments with me.
I remembered there was
an uncooperative situation occurred where some of the teammates were preferred
to watch FIFA World Cup instead of doing this assignment. I could not control
myself as the due date was near, so I use a bad manner way to talk with them. It
ended up with arguments. After a series of negotiation, we chose to tolerate
and apologize to each other. Lastly, we concentrate on doing this assignment
and paid hard works for it. As a Taylor’s student, we should apply communication
skills from the Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) which is communicate
appropriately in various settings and modes. Now I realized, communication
skill is not only significant in mastering different languages or how good you
can interact, but also the way we convey our messages to others. The way and
good manners we talk to others is the biggest challenge in communication
skills. Communication skills had established and modified the relationship
between my team mates and me. What is more, I am very conservative and introvert
in the past but now I have the courage to interact with people automatically.
To be honest, this is the biggest achievement that I have gained because it cannot
be mastered individually. I believe that communication skills are the most important
thing after all in one’s social life.
Furthermore,
interpersonal skill is a very essential and vital element in completing an
assignment. Interpersonal
skills are the life skills to interact and communicate with people. One with
good interpersonal skill is not only needed in this project but also in our daily
life. People with good interpersonal skills are usually perceived as optimistic,
calm and confident. Through the awareness of interacting with my teammates
during the progressions of assignment, my interpersonal skill had developed as
different conditions happened which needed us to discuss and communicate. For
example, we discussed the designs of website, the way we promote our website
and so on.
In short, I
have stepped out of my comfort zone to interact with new friends. In the near
future, interpersonal skills is definitely important because upcoming there
will be loads of group work awaiting me to be done with my team mates. Likewise,
a person with good interpersonal skill in society will have higher endearing in
getting a good job.
In this age of globalization, the advancement of information
and technology had assisted peoples from all walks of lives. So as I, I had
instil digital literacy linked from Taylor's
Graduate Capabilities which evaluate, summarize and communicate information
using digital technologies in this integrated assignment. I had used
information and communication technology effectively in researching
information, communicate through internet, designing website, and summarize our
works into a website. While we were at Tesco for doing research, we observed
everything related to questions and use our cameras to capture it down. Besides
that, if we unable to meet up, we discussed and distributed works to do using
Skype. We also do researching for information on internet using search engines.
Lastly, we summarized all our works into a blogspot neatly and clearly. By the
way, we designed our website in an appropriate way.
In conclusion, these learning experiences
will definitely benefit my life in the near future as well as develop me into a
better person. Communication skill is the key of success, the way I interact
with others is useful as I will meet different peoples from all walks of lives.
Other than that, I will get better impression and priority during interview for
a job as I have these good experiences. Later on, my enhanced interpersonal
skills will be my stepping stone towards success. I can settle
misunderstandings and problems with colleagues in a rational way. With these, I
can achieve the objectives set and run the task smoothly as well. Lastly, I am
honoured to say that this project will not be done successfully without my
teammates, lectures and tutors. After a month of hard works and means, finally
we can taste the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
